Glengoyne 28 Years Old 1995

Single European Sherry Hogshead No.2091
Lot #1450671
FINISH DATE
15 December 2025
A very rare, travel retail exclusive Glengoyne, distilled on the 26th of October 1995 and matured for 28 years is a single European Oak Sherry Hogshead (No.2091) before being bottled at cask strength. The cask yielded 197 bottles at 50.3% ABV. "Beautifully balanced with fresh grape, molasses and gingerbread on the nose. This exclusive bottling is rich and sherried while still being bright and crisp with suble nuttiness, all complimented by delicate strokes of light oak. Lingering spice and tropical fruits cumulates the long finish of this exquisite dram"
Glengoyne

Glengoyne is one of Scotland’s most picturesque distilleries and is a short trip from Glasgow in Dumgoyne. Originally founded in 1833 as the Burnfoot distillery, this area was a hotbed of illegal distilling, with its glens and abundance of water, crops and fuel sources. It wasn’t until 1905 that Glengoyne was renamed after a spell as Glenguin. Today, the distillery is firmly established thanks to the ownership of Ian Macleod Distillers who took over in 2003 after purchasing the distillery from the Edrington Group. They immediately sought to establish the distillery and build upon its reputation for using sherry casks and being unpeated. Those core principles remain today, although an ex-bourbon cask Glengoyne can be a lovely thing. Just over a million litres are produced annually and this supports a variety of age statements with the 21 year old being a highlight, while many enthusiasts enjoy the robust nature of the Teapot dram.
