    Glen Grant

One of the Speyside greats, Glen Grant was founded in 1840 by the managers of Dandelaith distillery, who both happened to be brothers with the surname of Grant. Today, the distillery is owned by the Italian Campari Group, where Glen Grant has traditionally enjoyed strong sales. For many years it remained in the Grant family, most famously with Major Grant at the helm and his legacy continues to this day. The distillery has always thought ahead of the pack, with electric lighting installed in 1861 making it the first in Scotland. In 1897, rather than expand internally, a second distillery was built next door which was called Glen Grant 2 until legislation prompted a name change. Glen Grant has always been able to offer a wide array of aged whiskies thanks to its well-managed inventory, its light and fruity style working extremely well with sherry casks, as highlighted by the strong support from Gordon & MacPhail.
