Fuji-Sanroku 18 Years Old 2016
Limited Edition Oloroso Finish
Named after the town of Gotemba where it is located, the dominant form in the region is the iconic Mount Fuji. The distillery was renamed in 2002 when Kirin Seagram took over full ownership and recently, they have invested in the site to expand the range of distillates produced, including 2 differently shaped sets of pot stills. The distillery itself isn’t small by any means, much like the mountain from which it draws its water and has been involved in a tug of war with the Glenfiddich distillery in Scotland to claim the title of the world’s biggest distillery, with both malt and grain being produced on site. Established in 1972 under the name of the Gotemba Distillery, it is mainly known for producing various age statements under the distillery name or Fuji Sanroku, with the Evermore blended whisky also proving very popular. Also increasingly sought after are special single cask releases including finishes, as Fuji Gotemba looks to call upon its vast inventory and expand its reach.
