The Velier Foursquare Indomitas is a landmark expression born from the celebrated collaboration between two titans of the rum world — Richard Seale, the masterful proprietor of Barbados' Foursquare Distillery, and Luca Gargano of Velier, Italy's foremost rum importer and bottler. It stands as the 12th release in the iconic black bottle series, a partnership that has become one of the most coveted in the rum world. Distilled in 2011 using Foursquare's signature combination of double retort pot still and twin column Coffey still, the Indomitas is a testament to the art of patience and craft. The rum undergoes a dual maturation entirely in the tropical heat of Barbados — six years resting in ex-Bourbon casks before being transferred to ex-Cognac casks for a further nine years, bringing it to a total age of 15 years. More specifically, it is a marriage of a parcel of solely ex-Bourbon matured rums with a parcel of double-matured rums that have passed through both ex-Bourbon and ex-Cognac casks. The result is then bottled at a barrel stremgtj 62% ABV.
