Dalmunach Distillery, situated in Carron, Speyside, is one of Scotland's newer whisky distilleries, having been built in 2014 by Chivas Brothers, a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. It replaced the former Imperial Distillery, incorporating elements like the red bricks from the original site into its modern design, which was inspired by the shape of a sheaf of barley. The distillery boasts an impressive capacity, capable of producing 10 million liters of pure alcohol annually, making it one of the largest malt whisky producers in Scotland. Dalmunach focuses on creating high-quality spirit for the Chivas Regal, Ballantine's, and Royal Salute blends, with its malt being known for its sweet and fruity character due to the use of long fermentation times and careful distillation processes. Although primarily used in blends, independent bottlings have started to emerge, showcasing the potential of Dalmunach's spirit as a single malt, reflecting the distillery's blend of innovation with traditional Speyside whisky craftsmanship.
