This limited edition single malt whisky was distilled in 1982 at the closed Dallas Dhu Distillery in Forres and bottled in 2007 from a single cask for Historic Scotland. Dallas Dhu closed in 1983 and then re-opened to the public in 1988 after the transfer of ownership to Historic Scotland as a visitors centre.

    Dallas Dhu

Dallas Dhu is unique in Scotland as it was given up by its owners in 1986 to Historic Scotland to become a museum. Having closed like so many Scottish distilleries in 1983, it now offers visitors an opportunity to walk around a Victorian distillery and sense the manual effort it took to create whisky. In recent times there have been stories and studies about returning the distillery to production. However, for now, you are able to walk around this Charles Doig designed distillery; a classic in terms of appearance and design. For the whisky, Dallas Dhu was designed to produce for blends and never enjoyed a single malt presence. It has only been through the work of independent bottlers that we can enjoy its efforts in modern times.
