    FINISH DATE

Single Cask release from Daftmill, bottled exclusively for Berry Bros. & Rudd having been matured in a first fill PX Sherry Hogshead. The barley optic was grown in our South fields and harvested in the last week of August 2006. It was then stored on the farm to be malted in Alloa during the Summer of 2007. This first fill PX Hogshead was the pick of the BB&R team. It was distilled in our Summer season being filled on the 27th July 2009 and has been bottled exclusively for Berry Brothers & Rudd. Filled from Cask 036/2009. Limited to 321 individually numbered bottles.

    Daftmill

Chances are you may have heard of this Fife farm distillery, but have never seen a bottle at retail? That’s because of huge consumer demand versus the small production from farmer and distiller, Francis Cuthbert, who focuses on quality, not quantity. Founded in 2005, Daftmill unlike many distilleries, waited until the whisky was ready. The inaugural bottle arrived 12 years later and since then we’ve seen a variety of single casks and seasonal batch releases entitled Summer and Winter. Distributed by Berry Brothers & Rodd based in London, the Lowland charms of Daftmill revive memories of Rosebank. The distillery takes terroir to another level with the farmer growing, distilling and maturing the whisky on the farm that started the whole process. It’s a very traditional Scottish model, lost in today’s world of efficiencies and scale. Daftmill is sought after and celebrated for some excellent whiskies.
