This is a limited edition winter batch release is made up of six first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels. Cask 040/2007, 041/2007, 042/2007, 044/2007, 045/2007 and 046/2007 which were distilled and filled by the 10th December 2007. Only 1685 bottles released for the Asian market.
Chances are you may have heard of this Fife farm distillery, but have never seen a bottle at retail? That’s because of huge consumer demand versus the small production from farmer and distiller, Francis Cuthbert, who focuses on quality, not quantity. Founded in 2005, Daftmill unlike many distilleries, waited until the whisky was ready. The inaugural bottle arrived 12 years later and since then we’ve seen a variety of single casks and seasonal batch releases entitled Summer and Winter. Distributed by Berry Brothers & Rodd based in London, the Lowland charms of Daftmill revive memories of Rosebank. The distillery takes terroir to another level with the farmer growing, distilling and maturing the whisky on the farm that started the whole process. It’s a very traditional Scottish model, lost in today’s world of efficiencies and scale. Daftmill is sought after and celebrated for some excellent whiskies.
