Chichibu London Edition 2024

Released annually and showcased at The Whisky Show, London each year. This is the 2024 Chichibu London Edition, the 7th in the series which kicked off in 2018. For this edition, a selection of 10 casks were vatted, primarily ex-bourbon barrels, with the addition of one red wine cask. This beautifully structured whisky offers hints of red fruit, honey, peach, lemon meringue pie, light peat smoke and a touch of resinous pine. In 2007 Ichiro Akuto, former manager of Hanyu distillery and grandspn of its founder, started a new chapter in Japan's whisky history by building his own distilleryy, Chichibu. Situated in Saitama prefecture, 70km North-west of Tokyo, it began production in February 2008. Chichibu is a small distillery with washbacks made of Japanese oak, (Mizunara) and a pair of copper pot stills manufactured by Forsyths in Scotland. One of only 1920 individually numbered bottles.
