Caroni 23 Years Old 1996

A special bottling of the Trinidad rum Caroni, bottled by Italian legends Velier. Twenty three Caroni experts gathered in Cognac on 12th April 2019 to sample the final barrels of stock imported from Trinidad and Guyana. They chose 22 casks to be blended, all embodying the range of styles from the lost distillery including heavy and lighter column still rums. This is the penultimate bottling to be released which exhausts Velier's stock acquired shortly after the distillery closed. All rums were distilled in 1996 and aged in Trinidad until 2008 before a final maturation in Diamond Distillers Ltd in Guyana until 2019.
