Caol Ila 40 Years Old Single Cask

This very rare and fascinating whisky was distilled in 1981 and there were just 114 bottles available. You can read their description of the dram below. “Like a fishing boat in the distance making its way back into harbour. Gentle waves of smoke and coal tar mingle with a delicate lemon and pineapple aroma. As the boat gets closer the old rope and weathered larch that have been sailing the seas under the watchful eye of the skipper start to become more apparent; cashews roasting on an open fire on the quayside are balanced with notes of fennel and lightly toasted brown bread. And now it’s arrived: iodine, more fennel and some fresh mint leaves welcome the boys home with the catch." This special bottling was available exclusively from Cadenhead’s shop on Chiltern Street in Marylebone, London from Saturday 2nd April 2022.
