Lot #1300468
FINISH DATE

In celebration of the classic whisky text "The Practical Distiller - Treatise of Practical Distillation" Bruichladdich released this very impressive 18-year-old single malt. It was first published in 1718 and reproduced in 2002 by the Greenwood publishing company. This limited-edition malt was Carefully selected by Master Distiller Jim McEwan and whisky writer Malcolm Greenwood on the 12th July 2002 from warehouse 12 at Bruichladdich distillery and was hand bottled one month later on the 21st August 2002. One of only 500 individually numbered bottles - all come complete with a copy of the Practical Distiller or, a brief Treatis of Practical Distillation inside the very heavy weight wooden presentation box.
Bruichladdich

Since Murray McDavid saved the distillery in 2000, with an asking price of £6.5 million. Bruichladdich has gone from strength to strength after a difficult initial period. Now under the ownership of Remy Cointreau, it is one of Islay’s most recognisable whiskies and brands. Remy brought much-needed financial clout that has allowed Bruichladdich to expand into new markets, build warehousing and pursue its brand of terroir. Today, it offers 3 distinctly different distillates, with the Bruichladdich being unpeated, a historical homage to a lost distillery (Port Charlotte) is heavily peated and well regarded. Then at the top of the peat ranking charts is Octomore, which pushes peat in new directions to an eager audience. Expect production details, various casks and eye-catching branding with each and every release from the distillery.
