    Bruichladdich 14 Years Old WMDIV

Yellow Submarine III [Reclassified] 25th Anniversary Release
    Lot #1530968
    END DATE: 17 August 2026
    4d8h19m

Following on from the 2004, 2005 and 2018 releases, this 4th release in the WMD series from Bruichladdich was launched in 2026 as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations. Like the 1st Yellow Submarine release in 2005, this has been matured for 14 years in a combination of 1st Fill Bourbon Barrels (25%) and Red Wine Casks (75%). Instead of Rioja casks this edition uses Bordeaux casks, and has been bottled at 54.2% ABV without colouring or chill-filtration. 'Many legends have surfaced over the last 25 years at Bruichladdich distillery. To this day no one knows the real story of how the Royal Navy came to lose one of its yellow submarines. However, many know how it was found, and the whisky that marked its return. When Islay fishermen, John Baker and Harold Hastie, landed the Navy submersible off our shores 20 years ago, the Yellow Submarine was born. A 14 year old limited edition, originally bottled and gifted to the Royal Navy when they arrived at Bruichladdich to retrieve their lost property...'

    Bruichladdich

Since Murray McDavid saved the distillery in 2000, with an asking price of £6.5 million. Bruichladdich has gone from strength to strength after a difficult initial period. Now under the ownership of Remy Cointreau, it is one of Islay’s most recognisable whiskies and brands. Remy brought much-needed financial clout that has allowed Bruichladdich to expand into new markets, build warehousing and pursue its brand of terroir. Today, it offers 3 distinctly different distillates, with the Bruichladdich being unpeated, a historical homage to a lost distillery (Port Charlotte) is heavily peated and well regarded. Then at the top of the peat ranking charts is Octomore, which pushes peat in new directions to an eager audience. Expect production details, various casks and eye-catching branding with each and every release from the distillery.
