On July 2oth 1969, Apollo 11 commander Neil Armstrong took the historic first steps.
Commemorating the 51st Anniversary of the Moon landing, The Whiskybarrel.com has selected a single cask of dark sherried Islay single malt Scotch whisky.
Matured in a 1st fill Oloroso Hogshead. Distilled in October 2002 and bottled at cask strength in March 2020.
Galactic quantities of rich dark sherry. Meteoric spiced ripe pears in a crater of hot chocolate. Solar summer fruits dusted in a smokey nebula. Lightyears of sweet oak on a supernova finish. Out of this world.... and beyond!

Bowmore
If we go by official dates, Bowmore is Islay’s oldest distillery in operation today, kicking off in 1779. Set in a spectacular location, along the coastline from the village of the same name. Bowmore had a mighty reputation founded on some classic whiskies from the 1960s. These have been released in a series of special editions and thankfully the current distillate is excellent. Somehow, Bowmore mixes the peat of Islay with a coastal vibe that is underpinned by a wonderful fruitiness. Shrouded in history, it also arguably has Scotland’s most famous and atmospheric warehouse in the Vault No.1. Stepping into this and walking through the maturing casks, while the ocean crashes against the outer wall, is well worth the price of admission.

How can I bid on the auctions?

We believe in giving our customers a fair amount of time to increase their bid should they wish. Last second sniping isn’t in the spirit of our auctions and by using this system there is no benefit to doing so.
