Bladnoch The Dragon Series

Bladnoch Distillery's The Dragon Series is a collection of five single malts, each crafted to highlight the unpredictable nature of whisky-making and the ongoing tension between science and nature. Every release explores a unique variable in the production process. Iteration II covers the earliest stage of distillery production. Starting with malted barley, the spirit goes through mashing, fermentation, and distillation—each step introducing variables like temperature, gravity, and cut points. It takes skilled hands and experience from the mash and still men to manage these factors and produce a consistent new make spirit. This release carries the Lowland’s floral and fruity distillery character, setting the foundation before the spirit moves into oak casks for aging. It was matured in a mix of first-fill and refill bourbon casks, and bottled at 48.3% ABV.
