About this bottle
The name Black Tot draws its inspiration from Black Tot Day—July 31, 1970—the day a 300-year-old Royal Navy tradition came to an end. At precisely 6 bells in the forenoon watch (11:00 a.m.), the final daily rum ration, or "tot," was issued aboard British warships, marking the close of an era when sailors received their customary measure of rum.
This somber occasion earned the name "Black Tot Day" as crews mourned the loss of the long-standing custom, with some even wearing black armbands in a symbolic farewell to the practice.
Bottled in Scotland by Speciality Drinks.
