Bimber The Spirit of the Underground

The Spirit of the Underground Series celebrates one of the great engineering projects of the past 200 years. A subterranean labyrinth steeped in history that empowers the true lifeblood of London - its people. This exceptional single cask release is drawn from an Ex-Rye cask and celebrates Tottenham Court Road tube station. Opened in 1900 Tottenham Court Road was situated westbound of the British Museum station until 1933 when the expansion of nearby Holborn station forced its closure. The Station has been extensively reconstructed over the last century - most recently as part of the Crosstrail development which has seen its ticket hall substantially enlarged. The area is famous for its selection of electrical goods shops and commercial activity - everything from the world's biggest brands to the smallest of knick-knack stores. Cask No.421 has produced only 274 individually numbered bottles, at a cask strength of 57.1%.
