Big Peat Feis Ile 2016
Big Peat Feis Ile 2016
Commenting on the new release, Fred Laing says: “Feis Ile sees Islay truly come alive, attracting Whisky fans from all over the world to this magical, week-long jubilee. We wanted to create packaging that does the Queen of the Hebrides and her Feis Ile Festival justice by creatively bringing together some of the wonderful symbols of the island that Whisky enthusiasts know and love. In true Douglas Laing style, our packaging is fun but the liquid inside remains as serious as ever, and this time he’s bottled at higher strength for an even punchier Big Peat hit.”
In line with the family philosophy, Douglas Laing’s Big Peat Feis Ile Limited Edition is proudly without colouring or chill-filtration, and bottled at high alcohol strength, 48%.
Just 500 bottles of the Feis Ile edition were produced, each individually numbered.
Blended whisky is an artful marriage of different types of whiskies, typically combining grain whiskies with malt whiskies from various distilleries. This blending process aims to achieve a balance, creating a whisky with a harmonious flavour profile where the strengths of each component are highlighted, while any potential weaknesses are cleverly masked. Blended whiskies offer a consistent taste across batches, making them a favourite for both new whisky drinkers and connoisseurs alike. They can vary widely in style, often providing a smoother, more approachable character than single malts, and are perfect for enjoying neat, on the rocks, or as the foundation for a cocktail. Each blend is a unique recipe, often kept secret by master blenders, showcasing their expertise in creating a spirit that's greater than the sum of its parts.
