About this bottle
An exceptionally old bottling of Ballantine’s Liqueur Blended Scotch Whisky, believed to date from the 1930s.
Produced and bottled in Scotland by George Ballantine & Son Limited, Glasgow & Dumbarton, this early example carries the historic “In Use For Over 100 Years – Established 1827” statement to the label.
The Ballantine’s archive identifies this style of label as being introduced after 1927, when the wording “Liqueur Blended Scotch Whisky” came into use. The “over 100 years” statement was later superseded by “over 125 years”, helping place this particular label style within the earlier period.
Presented in its original green glass bottle with period capsule and an A.G.W. manufacturer’s mark moulded into the base.
A fascinating and increasingly scarce example of pre-war Ballantine’s.
