    Auchentoshan

Established in 1800 on the outskirts of Glasgow and near the Clyde river, Auchentoshan has always overcome adversity. Originally called Duntocher before changing its name in 1834 to Auchentoshan, before changing owners on a regular basis. Its most famous incident came in 1941 when it was partially destroyed during a German bombing raid. It is said that the pond at the distillery is a result of that event. Unlike many other Lowland distilleries that dispensed with triple distillation, Auchentoshan has continued to utilise this form. In the belief that it is core to the character of their whisky which is predominantly kept for single malt use and always unpeated. Under the ownership of Beam Suntory, the official range continues to expand with new offerings available across the world.
