Auchenoshan distillery has rested at the foot of the old Kilpatrick hills, overlooking Glasgow's famous River Clyde 1823. From this gateway to the world, Auchentoshan distillery has witnessed many historic sights. From sailing ships loaded with Scotch whisky, leaving the Clyde, destined for the four corners of the world. And the huge Clyde-built ships, such as the Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth I & II, the hallmark of shipbuilding and engineering excellence. To the vast cargoes of spices, tobacco, cotton and wines arriving in Scotland that made Glasgow such a prosperous trading city. To Celebrate the distillery's link with the city,  the Lord Provost of Glasgow has selected this exceptional 21 years old Auchentoshan Single malt to reflect the people of Glasgow: warm, welcoming and quite unforgettable.
Matured and bottled by the Rt. Hon. Lord Provost of the city of Glasgow by Morrison Bowmore distillers, Glasgow. This lot also comes complete with a beautiful Glencairn decanter set which includes 2x Crystal whisky glasses and a stunning decanter and stopper all presented in a blue lined presentation box.

    Auchentoshan

Established in 1800 on the outskirts of Glasgow and near the Clyde river, Auchentoshan has always overcome adversity. Originally called Duntocher before changing its name in 1834 to Auchentoshan, before changing owners on a regular basis. Its most famous incident came in 1941 when it was partially destroyed during a German bombing raid. It is said that the pond at the distillery is a result of that event. Unlike many other Lowland distilleries that dispensed with triple distillation, Auchentoshan has continued to utilise this form. In the belief that it is core to the character of their whisky which is predominantly kept for single malt use and always unpeated. Under the ownership of Beam Suntory, the official range continues to expand with new offerings available across the world.
