Ardnamurchan AD/09.20:01
Inaugural Release
Until recently, the Ardnamurchan distillery flew under the radar. Often referred to as the Adelphi distillery (the owners and independent bottlers), takes its name from the remote Ardnamurchan peninsula in north-west Scotland where it is located. However, there was a previous distillery of the same name in Glasgow, before it closed in the 1930s and this lost distillery has a family connection to the new distillery. Coming online in July 2014 and distilling both peated and unpeated spirit, its inaugural single malt was released in September 2020. Prior to this, enthusiasts could follow the development of the spirit through the AD range which debuted in 2016. The increasing expectation and demand for whisky meant that Adelphi doubled production in 2018, which will pay dividends in later years.
