Ardnamurchan AD/10

Ardnamurchan is 10 years old!! To celebrate this milestone the distillery launched a unique batch of Ardnamurchan 10 Years Old whisky.  This 15,000 bottle batch was made up of 100% first-fill bourbon casks, where roughly half of the batch was subsequently finished, for over one year, in Champagne Paul Launois barriques. The spirit is 100% unpeated and bottled at 50% ABV. The Ardnamurchan peninsula is famous for its outstanding and untouched beauty and abundance of natural resources. The Distillery is situated half way along the peninsula in the small village of Glenbeg. It was designed to both look like a distillery and to fit in with the surrounding buildings. All the power and heat requirements for Ardnamurchan Distillery come from local renewables. Unusually, these days, they have their own dunnage warehouses at the distillery. The whisky matures right next to where it was made, on the Ardnamurchan peninsula, in close proximity to the North Atlantic Ocean (Ardnamurchan translates as “Headland of the Great Seas”). The rugged west coast air gives the whisky a certain element that cannot be replicated elsewhere.
