New Bulk Litres: 182.8 Litres New Strength: 56.8% New Litres of Alcohol: 97.8 Litres The cask was filled on the 26/06/2012, it has been maturing in a warehouse at a bonded warehouse by Elite Wine & Whisky Ltd. The cask was re-gauged on the 16/06/2026, following are the results of the re-gauge. Tasting Notes by Angus MacRaild (Whisky Consultant & Author) Nose: A mineral, earthy and elegantly chiseled smokiness at first nosing. Not as peaty as some other parcels of Ardmore from these vintages. Nice aromas of smoked olive oil, sandalwood and camphor emerge. With water: a slightly more austere profile that incorporates cement, crushed aspirin and coal soot. Palate: A more assertive peat profile upon arrival, and also some rather coastal impressions of seawater, fragrant mineral salts, briny notes, green olive and capers. Also lavage and parsley. Typically charismatic and unusual Ardmore. With water: a delicate waxy note, ink, white mushroom and wood smoke. Finish: Quite long, mineral, ashy, lightly peaty and with a dry herbal quality. Comments: The sort of cask you could bottle now or sit on for another decade plus. Characterful peaty malt at a good strength in an unobtrusive cask - quite a flexible prospect. Fees / Other costs to be aware of: Storage Fees – £0.72 per week Cask Insurance - £5.00 per £1,000 value of cask, per year. Regauging - £80+VAT Sample - £50+Duty IMPORTANT: Annual storage fees and any cask transfer admin fees will become payable by the buyer. Legal ownership of the cask will be transferred to the buyer once payment has been received by Just Whisky. Funds will be held by Just Whisky until the buyer is in legal receipt of the cask ownership to protect the buyer's transaction. The buyer will be responsible for any costs relating to removing the cask from bond in the future (i.e UK excise duty / VAT) as well as any other costs associated with cask movement and bottling. Non-UK buyers must appoint a duty representative to act on his/her behalf for transfer of ownership of the cask. The duty representative will need to be registered with HMRC and will normally charge an annual fee for the service. UK revenue trader (business or private individual connected to the trade), will need to be registered with HMRC and hold a WOWGR certificate.
