  • Ardbeg Blaaack (Committee Only Release) : To mark the 20th anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee, The Ardbeg BlaaacK Committee bottling was released in March 2020. Ardbegs whisky creators rounded up the finest Pinot Noir wine casks from New Zealand. Another remote island nation where sheep have been known to outnumber the locals by 7:1. This celebratory dram knits together velvety summer fruit pudding and bitter cherry, with a deeper edge of soot and Ardbeg's hallmark smoke. • Ardbeg Blaaack Release: Ardbeg Blaaack is the feisty Limited Edition bottled in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Ardbeg Committee, founded in the year 2000. To mark such a momentous occasion, the Distillery vowed that the casks used to honour their global flock would be right on the nose. For the first time in Ardbeg’s history, they have rounded up Pinot Noir casks from the country that lies the furthest distance from Islay – New Zealand, that other remote island nation where sheep have been known to outnumber the locals by 7:1.
Ardbeg

One of Scotland’s most iconic and recognisable brands, the Ardbeg of today is thanks to a take over by Glenmorangie in 1997. Prior to this it had fallen into a state of disrepair and suffered bouts of closures since the 1980s when the market lost the taste for Islay peat. The distillery was founded in 1815 by the McDougall family and remained in private hands until the Distillers Company Limited and Hiram Walker bought into the distillery in 1959. In 2004, the parent company was acquired by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy who has enjoyed considerable success since. In 2021, to cope with growing demand, a new stillhouse was completed on the Ardbeg shoreline that is home to 2 new pairs of replica stills that will ensure more of its charismatic whisky is available for all of us to enjoy.
