Andres Brugal Rum

Andrés Brugal Rum Edition No.1 is a limited-edition release bottled at 41.5% ABV in a 70cl format, first released in October 2022. Only 460 bottles were produced worldwide, with the rum presented in a crystal decanter featuring a diamond-pattern design and accompanied by a fitted stopper. The presentation is inspired by the travelling cases historically used by Brugal’s rum masters, with the bottle often housed in a cabinet-style case reflecting that heritage. The liquid itself is a blend of two double-aged reserves combined with first-fill single casks (ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry), created as a high-end sipping rum rather than a standard production release. It is produced by Brugal, a Dominican Republic distillery founded in 1888 by Andrés Brugal, with over 130 years of continuous family involvement. This expression was developed by fifth-generation Maestra Ronera Jassil Villanueva Quintana as a tribute to the founder and to the tradition of Maestro Roneros, who historically travelled to promote Dominican rum internationally. The release forms the first in a planned series of ultra-premium bottlings and reflects the distillery’s established practices of cask selection, double ageing, and blending, which have been passed down through five generations.
