Amrut 8 Years Old

Distilled at Amrut Distillery in India, the first batch of Little Greedy Angels Chairman's Reserve was matured for eight years in Oloroso sherry casks. This release is peated, with Amrut smoke-drying their own barley due to difficulties sourcing peated malt. It was bottled in 2022 at 50% ABV and presented in a box with a glass stopper. The name Little Greedy Angels refers to the exceptionally high rate of evaporation during maturation in India’s hot climate—often called the “angel’s share.” As a result, whiskies aged in India tend to develop a remarkable depth of flavour and can taste far more mature than their stated age, making this eight-year-old expression notably rich and complex.
