Akkeshi Peated Single Malt

Lightly peated single malt whisky distilled by Akkeshi Distillery in Akkeshi, Japan. 1st release of the Sekki (Solar Terms) series. This is the 17th season from the 24 Sekki seasons. The 24 Japanese Sekki are days that divide the solar year into 24 equal micro seasons. Kanro is the 15th day after the Autumnal Equinox and the 17th of 24 solar terms (節氣) in the traditional East Asian calendars. “Kanro” means the cold drops of dew on the grass. It is the season where the long autumn rain finishes and the real autumn starts. Around this time of the year, the air is very clear. It is also the harvest time of crops. Kanro was distilled using peated barley and has been matured in a combination of  ex-bourbon, wine, mizunara and sherry wood before being married. One of only 15,000 bottles
