Distilled at Aberfeldy on the 1st of July 2008, then matured for 8 years in 2nd fill Bourbon barrel before being bottled at cask strength by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. The cask yielded 132 bottles at 61% ABV.
Aberfeldy
Originally founded in 1896 by John Dewar's & Sons, Aberfeldy distillery remains a key component of the blend. Until the 1960s, a direct rail link was used to transport casks to the Dewar's warehouses in Perth. This strong association has ensured its survival with only 2 years of hibernation since 1896. Aberfeldy's whiskies have enjoyed a rise in popularity in recent times thanks to a successful rebranding and expansion of the range by current owners Bacardi. The distillery remains relatively unscathed with the only notable expansion in 1972 when the number of stills was doubled. Aberfeldy is worth visiting and features a wide range of bottle-your-own options, bar and cafe.
