    Single Cask Botlting
    Lot #0270880
    FINISH DATE
    29 February 2016

Hand Crafted, using long-standing, traditional methods and equipment, this delicate spirit was patiently distilled and carefully hand filled into the finest oak cask, to quietly slumber and gently mature in Glenturrets warehouse, since the 12th July 1991.

This single cask was then hand-picked by the Distillery Manager, specially selected for its remarkable quality, elegant character and distinctive flavour.

As one of only 618 bottles, these rare single cask editions are highly coveted and this particular example was bottled at 16 years of age in March 2008.

    Glenturret

Glenturret is one of Scotland’s oldest, if not the oldest distillery, founded in 1775 officially under the name of Hosh, by illicit distillers. Unsurprisingly there is a rich history to the site, which is one of the most picturesque distilleries in Scotland. By current standards, Glenturret is a very small producer and until recently was used mainly by Edrington as a Famous Grouse attraction, thereby overlooking the single malt. It was never a comfortable fit and came to an end in 2019 when the Lalique Group purchased the distillery. Since then, a new single malt range has been launched in 2020, under the watchful eye of Bob Dalgarno was the Master blender at Macallan. He has taken the maturating stock and crafted a series of whiskies that remind many of Macallan, but at a fraction of the cost. A pleasant surprise to many in 2020, expectations are rising around Glenturret as it seeks to establish a new identity.
