Hakushu 1981 Kioke Shikomi Pure Malt & 1991 Furudaru Shiage - Suntory Pure Malt
Two bottles of Hakushu Pure Malt from Suntory;
"Kioke Shikomi" best translated to "matured in wooden tubs". This Hakushu Pure malt whisky was distilled in 1981 the same year the distillery expanded with the commissioning of a second Hakushu Distillery, situated East to the original site now called Hakushu West. We believe it was bottled in 2005 making the malt inside a fine 24 years old. This series was then discontinued in 1999.
From the experts of Japanese Whiskies Nonjatta, this is a Suntory 1991 "Furudaru Shiage" which means "Old Barrel Finish" and the red characters on the bottle label translates to "Filtered Through Bamboo Charcoal".
