Glenfarclas 1963 - The Family Cask 2011 (Release VIII)
The Eighth release from Speyside distillery Glenfarclas 'The Family Casks'. Distilled in 1963 and bottled on the 14th October 2011 after being matured in Sherry Hogshead Cask #179 for around 48 years!
The notes from Glenfarclas:
Almost like an old port wine on the nose, lovely rich vibrant tannins. Spicy Mulligatawny soup. Light citric notes giving way to stewed apples.
Fresh fruit initially then almost like a fresh apricot that has been dipped into lovely dark chocolate.
Long delicate fruit with natural sweetness.
Only 194 of these bottles were made.
