Tasting Notes - Supplied by Angus MacRaild (Whisky Consultant & Author)

Nose: dominated by rich cereal tones, freshly baked breads, parsley, freshly kilned malt and buttered oatcakes. Some further notes of lemon cordial and toffee add sweetness. Good richness, very clean and close to the raw ingredients. With water: fresh barley, oatcakes, flapjack, grass and waxed parchment.

Palate: crisp and sharp, quite a lot of green acidity with impressions of gooseberry, cider apple and sauvignon blanc. Once again, close to the raw ingredients and extremely pure and fresh. More breads, cereals and sourdough starter. With water: more natural sweetness comes through, young calvados, pear distillate, melon and sunflower oil.

Finish: medium in length, back towards crisp cereals, lightly peppery and warming with some notes of lemon infused tea.

Comments: Very pure and natural young Auchroisk that feels like true barley eau de vie in style. Could be bottled now as a young and fresh style malt, or left to mature further for a number of years quite easil
