Nikka 40 Years Old - 80th Anniversary

To commemorate the 80th anniversary Nikka decided to produce a premium blended 40 year old whisky. The recipe included 1945 Yoichi Malt and 1969 Miyagiko Malt, two extremely precious whiskies distilled in the days of founder Masataka Taketsuru. Other old and rare casks were also chosen for this blend. Thus, making this exquisite whisky an accumulation of the passion and efforts of all employees involved in the making process of the whiskies throughout the company's history.

The asymmetry design of the bottle itself was inspired by layers of "Kimono". The bottle portrays our gratitude to the heritage and advance of tradition. The bottle is capped with the warmth of wood, a perfect contrast of the sparkling glass body. The wooden cap was carved from old casks selected for this whisky and had been remade into a stack and reunited with the finest whiskies. Each stack of the wood is different from each other just as each cask has an individual character. A design which represents an awe to the incalculable value delivered by the collaboration of great nature and human craftsmanship.

All this encased in a large wooden presentation box which comes with a The Nikka 40 Years Old booklet and a glass.
