Longpond 1941 - 1999 - Jamaican Rum

A familiar looking box - think Macallan 25 Anniversary - which encases an incredible rum distilled just two years into World War 2 in 1941. When the World was at conflict, men landed on the moon, the Internet was invented, this rum lay sleeping. The barrel of rum was shipped to the U.K. in 1946 and has been matured in Elgin since 1967 until finally being bottled in 1999 for your drinking pleasure.

G&M tasting notes:

Nose: Sweet and spicy - cumin, turmeric, slightly oaky with citrus notes.
Palate: Spicy with cedar
Body: Smooth
Finish: Sweet, rich and fruity.
